The Liberty Hospital Foundation serves to develop an endowment through private support, assisting the hospital's efforts in providing quality medical care for the residents it serves. While the Hospital and the Foundation are separate organizations, the interests and aspirations of both are focused on the same thing; the well-being and health of the people of this community. Through a collaborative process, the Foundation has helped to bring a Walking Trail to the Hospital campus.

The Walking Trail is part of an effort to help the Liberty community get "on-track" with a healthy lifestyle. By providing a facility for walking, the hospital is looking to integrate wellness, preventive care and exercise into the lives of the members of the community. The Trail, open from dawn until dusk, is designed for patients, their families hospital employees and the community at large. Situated on the hospital's 50-acre campus, the one-mile trail features an eight-foot wide paved path that will eventually link with the city system of walking trials. A portion of the trail is handicapped-accessible.

A brick walkway under the gazebo is paved with commemorative bricks have been purchased by community members to honor loved ones. For more information, call (816) 792-7014.
